A new recipe plus more random stuff

Hmm, blogger isn't letting me upload pictures right now, which is weird because I just uploaded a picture for my other blog, but we all know that blogger works in mysterious ways. How many times did I just say blog/blogger?

A new recipe is up on my other blog, so go check it out.

Here is a link to the recipe for golden "chicken" nuggets. I used regular rolled oats, and they turned out fine. The only problem with this recipe is with leftovers. They become really dry and crumbly if refrigerated, so I would say eat them fresh, or crumble them into a salad.

Okay, I got the pictures uploaded.

The new recipe on my recipe blog, Creamed Mushrooms* and Spinach* with Quinoa*. In it there's shallots that Rachel brought home. She brought the (prepackaged) quinoa home as a sample from a natural foods company.

I buy the majority of our food (what Rachel doesn't bring home) in bulk, but the price comparison between buying in bulk and buying small prepackaged foods (for example, quinoa) always amazes me. What amazes me even more is when people have access to bulk foods but buy the prepackaged stuff instead.

Anyhoo, We had this for dinner tonight along with.....

Seared frisee* with balsamic-flax dressing from one of Dreena Burton's books, I can't remember which one and I'm too lazy to go look.

Sugarless power muffins from La Dolce Vegan. I haven't tried them yet, but I'll let y'all know the verdict as soon as I do. I'm thinking they might be a little crumbly because there's no wheat in them.

A picture of a creek near Susan's apartment, taken when I was staying with her but forgotten about until today.

*edited* I know why I forgot about them, because I didn't have the camera. Duh!

Another picture.

The Daily Roundup Of Food Rachel Brought Home, relayed to me by Rachel, who has been kind enough to give me a break from sorting through and putting all the produce away:
broccoli, kale, chard, collards, sweet peas, baby spinach, bananas, celery, flat and curly parsley, rotten cilantro, tomatoes, and red leaf lettuce.

Tomorrow I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to blog, because our friend is coming over to watch a movie.

Bye!

That creek is lovely... Wow, what a pretty area that must be.

Also, i dig the food you made! Glad you got the photos posted :)

I'd like to know how you felt about the sugarless muffins... are they sweet from fruit juice or not sweet at all??

I'll definitely let you know about them. They're sweetened with stevia.

Thanks for giving me that link!
the creek really reminds me of my grandma's place (the upstate NY)
I'm visiting Dansville, NY which is about an hour or 2 drive from Rochester.
I'm leaving hmm a week and a half. Going there for 4th of july. :)

hey nice blog u got here!!! ohh this post reminds me that I need to prepare a keenwa based recipe.. :-)

and yea a lot of times I do get pre-packaged stuff.. too lazy to chop and cut stuff.. like cabbage or brocolli.. I know the price difference between bulk and pre-packaged is a lot.. I guess I should start buying produce in bulk..
