Grilled Cheese?

Tonight's dinner was simply some grilled cheese, so we could use up the block uncheese. Well, as grilled cheesy as it could get, as the uncheese doesn't melt too well. I saw on a livejournal vegan cooking community that someone had made three different kinds of block uncheeses, two chedderish ones and the mozzarella one, all from The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook. She said the mozzarella one (which, incidently, does not contain agar) melted the best, so maybe I'll make that next. Maybe not, I'm not making any promises. Rachel made some Celestial Seasonings iced tea mix* thingy. All it was was tea bags that you poured cold water over, let sit for a few minutes, then added ice to. It was really good.

Tomorrow I should have the camera back, and that means pictures! It was really hot today, but then there was a thunderstorm and it cooled off nicely, so I took advantage of the cooler weather and made some oatmeal bars, adjusting it as usual. This time I made it with mango juice, chopped apricots*, and coconut. I've also been cutting way back on the oil and replacing it with more juice, it turns out just as well.

The Daily Roundup Of Food Rachel Brought Home: frisee, kale, collards, prepackaged baby spinach, loose baby spinach, lettuce, leeks, shallots, scallions, flat and curly parsley, chives, broccoli, baby zucchini, a cucumber, strawberries, fresh pineapple, grapes, watermelon, thyme, and basil. In case you couldn't tell, there was no particular order in this roundup, I basically just went from memory.

That's all for now.

I've had similar experience with block uncheeses. But, I've never tried the mozerella. Thanks for the idea.
