You gotta love the Rosendale Cafe

Yesterday night we went to the Rosendale Cafe (see my opinion of the cafe here) to see The Hunger Mountain Boys. We love them! They are awesome! If they're ever in anyone's area go see them. :)

Anyway, back to the cafe. So we got there and went in (I decided to eat there even though they're liars, I just knew not to order certain things on the menu that aren't vegan even though they say they are). After we were seated, one of the waiters came over and asked if we were staying for the show. We told him we were and he took the money for the cover charge. Dad ordered a spring roll appetizer, then we ordered our entrees. I ordered the zen platter, which consisted of brown rice, black beans, steamed tofu, steamed carrots, steamed zucchini and summer squash, seaweed (arame, I think), and my choice of tahini or tamari dressing (it was kind of overpriced at 12.95, if you ask me). Anyway, about five minutes after we ordered, another waitress came and asked if we were ready to order. After we told her we already had ordered and she had left our table, a waiter came over and asked if we were staying for the show. We told him we already payed the cover. What the heck? Then they brought our salads before they brought the appetizer. Okay. Then, after I had told the waitress that I wanted tahini dressing for my entree, she came back and asked me what kind of dressing I wanted. After they brought our entrees out, we asked if we could please have some bread because we hadn't gotten any yet (it's supposed to come with the meal). During intermission, one of the waitresses came up to dad and said she was sorry but she forgot what we had ordered (she was getting the bill ready). After Rachel told her what entrees we had she left, but when dad got the bill it was only for the three entrees (not the appetizer or the beer dad had or the coffee dad had). So dad went up to the register to tell them they had undercharged us and to straighten the bill out. Do you want to know what they said? They said oh, we were wondering who's bill that was. :O
Also, when we got there, they had their regular menu and their specials menu. About two hours later, they had wittled down the whole menu to one piece of paper. Yes, one piece of paper. Not the regular menu and a piece of paper for the specials, but one menu for everything.
They also ran out of glass cups so they were giving people paper and plastic ones. I've noticed they always seem to run out of things, last time being napkins.
*Sigh* you gotta love the Rosendale Cafe.

Um, actually it isn't. :O
We mostly go for the music, because they always have great performers stopping by.

If your cafe experience had been a scene in a movie, it wouldn't have seemed like real life (or does it happen often? LOL)
In your April 30th entry you mentioned that you made spelt bread. Do you have a recipe for it?

Yeah, sometimes the places that seem really cool just. . . aren't. The casein soy cheese bit really annoys me, even in the store. I know, it's fine for the lactose-intolerant--but if you are doing specifically for a vegan option. . . GAH?! Oh, and reading your last post--I will keep my fingers crossed about the kittens. Sigh. I reallyreallyreally want a cat. . .
