Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July. Mine was quite nice, thank you. :)
Before I post pictures of food, I bring you a link to get you back into the celebrating mood.

Here we have barbequed seitan in a sprouted grain hot dog bun, southern greens, and a mixture of carrots, frozen corn, and frozen green beans (I'm trying to clean the freezer out). But that's not what you all want to see, you want cake! Specifically.......

Boston Creme Pie!

A look at the filling......

look again before it disappears!

It sliced perfectly, no sticking to the knife or anything.

Also, check out this link for the Granny Peace Brigade. I heard about them a few months ago when they were staging their Times Square protest, and I read about them again in the newspaper a few days ago. They were going to be joining Cindy Sheehan in Washington, DC for a 4th of July protest/fast. They are truly an inspiration.

That's all for now!

Stay tuned, my next post is going to be a cookbook review!

Where did you get the recipe for the creme pie?? It looks awesome! Sinfully Vegan has a section for boston creme pies that I've been wanting to try.

That pie sure looked good!
Thank you for answering about the spelt bread. I don't have access to the book so if you wouldn't mind emailing me (address on my site) the recipe I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

WOW! Great pics! Thanks for commenting on my blog...I am sure I forgot some of what I bought this week but I will get back on track this next week. I am pondering a shopping spree at Nature's Market. Not sure if it will happen tho.

Oh La La!
This cake looks amazing!
Truly wish I had a piece!
And how did you do the sprouted grains bread?

t. -I actually bought them. It's the food for life brand, they also make breads, hamburger buns, pasta, and cereal. (Probably other stuff that I don't know about too!)
